The Way To Tea Debuts at The World Tea Expo in Atlanta, GA
ATLANTA, Georgia (June 14, 2007) The Way To Tea: Your Adventure Guide To San Francisco Tea Culture debuted with great success at the World Tea Expo in Atlanta last weekend. A new book and the first of its kind to showcase the very diverse San Francisco tea scene, The Way To Tea ushers in the new American tea culture through its epicenter and west-coast gateway, the SF Bay Area. "San Francisco tea culture is so rich, varied, and exciting, and I believe it will play a prominent role in setting trends for the rest of the country," said author Jennifer Sauer.
Though a grassroots work, The Way To Tea held a national presence in the community of premium tea buyers and sellers at the World Tea Expo, which hosted 280 exhibitors and more than 4000 attendees from around the world. Signed advance copies of the book sold out halfway through the show, and a significant portion of inventory was pre-sold in just two-and-a-half days. Whole cartons were bought by teashop and tearoom owners in places like Canada and Puerto Rico, while many people from India, China, Australia—and, of course, the U.S.-- took books home with them.
According to James Norwood Pratt, one of the world’s leading authorities on tea and tea lore and a speaker at The World Tea Expo, “Anyone who loves tea or loves San Francisco is sure to love this book."
Mighty Leaf Tea, a leading purveyor of handcrafted whole leaf tea blends, and based in San Rafael, California, shared booth space with The Way To Tea author and photographer, Jennifer Sauer, who is one of their providers of advertising imagery. Mighty Leaf Tea has also invited The Way To Tea to join forces with them again at the San Francisco Gift Show in July 2007.
